The Big Short director Adam McKay’s latest film, Vice, hits theaters this Christmas.
The film’s star-studded cast includes Christian Bale as Dick Cheney, Amy Adams as Lynne Cheney, Steve Carrell as Donald Rumsfeld, Sam Rockwell as George W. Bush, Allison Pill as Mary Cheney and Lily Rabe as Liz Cheney.
Though we didn’t get to see Tyler Perry as Colin Powell and LisaGay Hamilton as Condoleeza Rice, photos have now surfaced on the web.

So if you think you’re going get a run-of-the-mill Cheney biopic, think again. Sorry to Bother You director Boots Riley co-signed it on Twitter recently:

It was initially reported that Powell was “annoyed” that Perry would be portraying him. Powell later clarified his stance and asked Quincy Jones to connect them. He had a conversation with Perry where they “had a nice conversation and even exchanged copies of their recent books and General Powell offered his services to Mr. Perry, if he needed any or had any questions,” a rep for Powell told Vulture.
“Only Tyler Perry could just be like, ‘I’m calling Colin Powell.’ I mean, that just cracked me up right away,” McKay said recently. “The whole idea of Tyler Perry, I was told the idea, and then he came by my office, and I have never met anyone with more presence in my entire life. Like, the guy has gravitas, and instantly I was like, ‘Oh yeah, he’s Colin Powell.’ So yeah, he talked to Powell. Tyler’s really, really smart. He gets it. He sees the big picture. I told him, ‘You know, this isn’t one of Powell’s best stories from his life,’ and Tyler was like, ‘I told him that.’ And to Powell’s credit, he acknowledged that, as well … But ultimately — to Powell’s credit, I guess — that was it. It was a quick exchange.”
Vice is in theaters Christmas Day.
