Universal, Will Packer Developing Film On Top HS Athlete's 'Unprecedented' Decision To Attend An HBCU

Universal and Will Packer Productions are developing the sports drama film, One and Done.

From writers Chad Sanders and Chris Spencer, the film will focus “around one of the nation’s top high school athletes and his unprecedented decision to attend an HBCU.”

Packer and his production partner, James Lopez, will producer through WPP. A director is not attached yet.

“This is a timely story about a young man’s journey of discovery at an HBCU and his fight against the NCAA system,” Packer said in a statement.

Known as the super-producer behind films such as Girls Trip, Ride Along, Night School and The Photograph, Packer also recently announced a biopic on groundbreaking NFL QB, Doug Williams.
