Discovery+ and NowThis have released the trailer for the original docuseries Uprooted, which tells the story surrounding the 1986 unsolved hanging death of a 19-year-old Black man, Keith Warren, in Silver Spring, Maryland.

With the case having never been thoroughly investigated, Keith Warren’s sister Sherri has spent 35 years seeking the truth about what happened to her brother. Featuring interviews with Keith Warren’s friends and family as well as both active and retired law enforcement, forensic experts, eyewitnesses and private investigators, Uprooted includes never-before-reported support for the probability Keith Warren did not die by suicide.

In addition to the three-part dosuseries, Uprooted will be accompanied by a six-part podcast hosted by Black Lives Matter co-founder Alicia Garza. The podcast will feautre commentary from  academics, activists, artists, and culture critics like actor and activist Kendrick Sampson, Color of Change President Rashad Robinson, activist Linda Sarsour and sociologist Nancy Wang-Yuen.

Uprooted is directed by Avril Z. Speaks and is executive produced by Matt McDonough alongside NowThis’ Tina Exarhos. All episodes of Uprooted will stream Friday, February 18 on Discovery+
