New 9-1-1 star Vanessa Estelle Williams has joined the Fox series as Claudette, a dispatcher who is fielding a scary call in Monday’s newest episode.

In the exclusive clip below from Monday’s episode, “Home And Away,” Claudette is calm under pressure as she helps a young girl and her grandfather make it through a home invasion unscathed. But that’s not the only bit of drama that happens in the episode. According to the official description:

“The members of the 118 arrive on the scene after a truck crashes into a high school homecoming parade. Meanwhile, Athena and Michael try to help Harry in the aftermath of his kidnapping, May is intimidated by returning call center legend and Bobby gives a devastated Chimney advice regarding Maddie.”

9-1-1 follows first responders who help everyday citizens in Los Angeles survive some of the most harrowing situations imaginable. The series stars Angela Bassett, who has become the highest-paid woman of color on TV thanks to her role as LAPD field Sergeant Athena Grant. Bassett also executive produces the series and its spinoff 9-1-1: Lone Star.

Along with Williams, 9-1-1 also stars Peter Crause, Oliver Stark, Aisha Hinds, Kenneth Choi, Rockmond Dunbar, and Corrine Massiah. 9-1-1 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on Fox.
