If picked up, a new series will continue to make Vanessa Williams a mainstay at ABC.

The iconic actress, who starred in Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty and 666 Park Avenue for the network, joins soon-to-be former Scandal star Bellamy Young in the hourlong cosmetics comedy-drama, False Profits.

She joins a lineup which also includes Shelley Hennig, Kosha Patel and Kapil Talwalka.

The series is from Kayla Alpert, Jason Reed and ABC Studios. It follows a team of down-and-out women in suburban Arizona as they fight their way to the top of the cutthroat world of a multi-level marketing cosmetics business. Williams’ character is Suzanne, the “chief of a highly successful ‘tribe’ of Brava Natural saleswomen, and she wants to add Laura (Young) to her cluster of money-making devotees.”

Williams, who recently starred in VH1’s Daytime Divas, which was canceled after one season, garnered three Emmy nominations as Wilhemenia Slater on Ugly Betty.
