During Paris Fashion Week, Viola Davis walked the Le Défilé L’Oréal Walk Your Worth show at the Eiffel Tower on Sunday. Davis was photographed walking with her husband, Julius Tennon, and later posed alongside their 13-year-old daughter, Genesis.

The family photo shows Tennon wearing a brown plaid blazer, tan trousers, brown dress shoes and a multi-printed button-down. Genesis wore a lime green dress with feathers accentuating the sweetheart top. Davis wore an all-black gown and gold heels.

After meeting on the set of the CBS television series City of Angels in 1999, Davis and Tennon have been married for over 20 years. The couple adopted their daughter in 2011 and have quickly made her the center of their world. Genesis is close to her parents, especially Davis, whom she inspires to be like — a legendary actress.

In honor of National Daughter’s Day, Davis shared sweet photos of moments with her daughter over the years on Instagram.

“My daughter is my heart. ❤️#HappyNationalDaughterDay,” Davis captioned the post.

Davis spoke to People in 2017 about her choice to adopt her daughter.

“I wanted my life to mean and be something deeper. That’s when the urge came, and the urge was just very, very, very strong. So I have a kid now, and she is just the light of our lives.”

People reported that Davis revealed her daughter’s ambitions to become a movie star in December 2020.

“She does want to be an actress,” she told Ellen DeGeneres. “She says, ‘Mommy, I know how to live the words. I know how to breathe the words. I know how to remember the words.’ And I said, ‘Well, you gotta remember how to go to school and at 18, you need to remember how to get out of the house and pay your own bills.'”

Genesis made her big screen debut in The Angry Birds Movie 2 in 2019, voicing the character Vivi. According to People, she worked with Gal Gadot’s daughter, Alma Versano, and Nicole Kidman’s daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith.

“Well, I would randomly be like, ‘Oh, I have to go to this event with my mom,’ and then I would pause and be like, ‘Hold up, wait a second, it’s about me!'” Genesis told Variety about her first red carpet.
