nullCatching up on my emails, I came across a casting notice I received in late December, for an upcoming feature film titled Lila and Eve, which lists Jennifer Lopez and Viola Davis as stars, with Charles Stone III ((DrumlinePaid in FullMr. 3000Crazy, Sexy, Cool: The TLC Story) directing.

The casting notice called for stunt coordinators, director’s assistants and several other crew positions, with shooting taking place in Atlanta, Georgia.
This is the first time I’m hearing about this project (although the casting notice has been sitting in my inbox for a couple of weeks or so), and a Google search didn’t return much. It doesn’t appear to have been formally announced just yet. Although it is definitely listed on IMDB, with Jennifer Lopez and Charles Stone III attached as star and director, but no specific mention of Viola Davis.
However, ChickFlick Productions and JuVee Productions are listed as producers on the film’s IMDBPro page, which only supports the casting notice’s inclusion of Viola Davis, because JuVee Productions is her production company, which she co-founded with her husband Julius Tennon.
Per the notice, the story will follow two distraught mothers who team up to avenge the death of their children after authorities are unable to find their murderers.

It is described as “Thelma & Louise meets Fight Club.” Interesting mix there, won’t you say? I’m trying to picture what a film with that description would look like; but, color me definitely intrigued! I want to know more, for sure!

Production for the film starts this month, with a 2015 release date listed.

You’ll recall when Davis launched JuVee Productions a couple of years ago, with the intent being to create and produce projects for herself, which is essentially what she’s likely doing here.

This should be interesting.

If you’re interested in applying for any of the available crew slots, you’re asked to send your resume, and include your desired position in the subject line of your email and send to lilaandeveresumes@gmail.com.

Again, I received this in late December, even though I’m only posting it now; so positions may already be filled (My bad!! I get a ton of emails every day).

But at least, we know that there’s something cooking here, with Viola Davis behind it, and maybe in front of it too, alongside Jennifer Lopez, and Charles Stone III directing.

Stay tuned…
