Wanda Sykes won’t be returning to Roseanne. The comedian and actress announced the news on Twitter after Roseanne Barr’s racist Twitter post about former Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett.

The racist tweet spurred a flurry of outcry on social media, with many calling for ABC to cancel Roseanne.

She later said, “I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans. I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me-my joke was in bad taste.”

Sykes later tweeted that she was not returning to the show and also clarified that she was not the show’s head writer.

ABC has yet to comment on the matter.

Among the bevy of controversy the show has gotten since the reboot premiered, one, in particular, included an offensive “joke” directed toward black-ish and Fresh off the Boat which ABC entertainment president Channing Dungey said she stood behind.
