2019 seems like it’ll be a banner year for the legendary Alfre Woodard.
Aside from starring in Clemency (which garnered critical acclaim at Sundance, winning the film festival’s top award), she’ll also star in another vehicle, Netflix’s Juanita. Here’s the logline for the film: Fed up with her life, Juanita leaves her grown kids behind and hits the road in search of a fresh start.
The film, directed by Clark Johnson and written by Roderick M. Spencer, stars Woodard, Adam Beach, Latanya Richardson Jackson, Gil Birmingham, Ashlie Atkinson and Blair Underwood.
It is produced by Stephanie Allain Bray, Mel Jone, and Jason Berman.
