Djimon Hounsou co-stars with Michael Pena and Dougray Scott in Lakeshore Entertainment’s horror/thriller "The Vatican Tapes," which will be released this Friday, July 24.
The film centers on a leaked video tape that reveals a Vatican exorcism gone very, very awry.
Hounsou plays a Vatican official called in to exorcise the demon.
Mark Neveldine ("Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance") directed the film, from a script penned by Christopher Borrelli, with revisions by Michael C. Martin and director Neveldine.
Kathleen Robertson, Peter Andersson, Olivia Dudley, John Patrick Amedori, Alex Sparrow and Jarvis W. George (as Det. Simmons) also feature in the cast, with Lionsgate’s Pantelion Films on board to release the film domestically.
Producer Lakeshore Entertainment’s last demonic possession tale, "The Exorcism of Emily Rose," grossed over $144 million globally.
