Watch Film Clip From 'Refinding Vera Stark' Based On Lynn Nottage's Play

nullPulitzer Prize award winning playwright Lynn Nottage's (Ruined) play, By The Way Meet Vera Starkabout a fictional black actress working as a maid to a fading white Hollywood actress, was a critical and box office Off Broadway smash.

The play is still being performed currently at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles with Sanaa Lathan, who originated the role in the premiere N.Y. production; also in spring 2013, the play will be staged at the Goodman Theater in Chicago.

However, Ms. Nottage and filmmaker Carmen Levy-Green, with some creative license, have made a "mockumentary" about Stark, titled Lost and Found: Refinding Vera Stark, which further explores her fictional character's background and disappointments.

Among the highlights, in this excerpt from the film, is a grand appearance by the legendary actress/director/acting teacher Billie Allen Henderson, who plays Winnie Hawkins, a former acting collegue of Stark.
