Earlier this year, Jamie Foxx got behind the camera in Brooklyn, NYC, to direct his Canon “Project Imaginat10n” short film, which we now know is called …And She Was My Eve.

The film stars Tyrin Turner (Menace II Society) and Foxx’s Django Unchained co-cast member Nichole Galicia

Official synopsis reads:

A man scarred early in life by unrequited love works to attain the perfect mate. In the end, he may get more then he bargains for.

You’ll recall the announcement made last fall that Canon U.S.A.Inc. had aligned with 5 selected directors to helm short films, based on winning photographs selected from thousands of submissions from photographers like you. The 5 filmmakers selected 10 photographs each.

The five were/are, in addition to Jamie Foxx, Eva Longoria, Biz StoneGeorgina Chapman and James Murphy.

The program is shepherded by producer/director Ron Howard.

The “10” in “Imaginat10n,” represents ten storytelling elements that are key to each film – Discovery, Character, Mood, Goal, Backstory, Setting, Obstacle, Relationship, The Unknown and Time.

As part of the agreement, the films were all shot on the Canon Cinema EOS System.

Produced by Freestyle Picture Company, all five films premiere at a special “Project Imaginat10n” Film Festival this year, and are all now available online for you to watch.

I’ve embedded Jamie’s …And She Was My Eve below. I’m not sure what I think of it yet – I will watch it again and let it sit for a minute. But I like that he took some chances with it, creating something unusual.
