"+JULIANI" - The Road Trip "Connections"
“+JULIANI” – The Road Trip “Connections”

As announced last week, we’re rebooting the S&A “Short Shout!” series – something we used to do with regularity previously, in which we highlight a short film every week, that speaks to this blog’s specific interests, and that we deem worth seeing. So please send in your short films if they’re online and public, so that we can consider them for this series; email me at obensont@gmail.com with a link to the film, or database I can download it from; include a synopsis, key cast and crew information, as well as any “director’s statement” that you may want your audience to read before watching your film.

Below is this week’s short film which hails from Studio Ang and +JULIANI – a 30-minute documentary directed by Bobb Muchiri, featuring Kenyan hip-hop icon Juliani.

Set on a road-trip with Juliani and five of his top fans, from Nairobi to Mombasa, the vividly captured film is an intimate journey and meditation on the artist’s childhood, his inspirations, his passion for his community and for his music, all leading up to an anticipated performance in Mombasa.

In case you haven’t been paying attention, hip-hop is a global phenomenon. Titled “+JULIANI – The Road Trip,” Catch a powerful and inspiring glimpse of how its appreciated in Juliani’s corner of the world:
