Another free online screening from the folks at the California Newsreel… May’s Free Preview of the month is titled Faubourg Treme: The Untold Story Of Black New Orleans.

Synopsis reads: The neighborhood of Faubourg Tremé gave the world much of what is special about New Orleans’ rich expressive culture. Take an eye-opening journey through three centuries of African American history in this eye-opening and poignant film.

The 2007 film, executive produced by Wynton Marsalis & Stanley Nelson (Freedom Riders) was directed by Dawn Logsdon.
