WATCH: Sandra Oh Shouts Out Alfre Woodard, Lena Waithe, Jamie Foxx In SAG Awards Acceptance Speech

During Sandra Oh’s acceptance speech for winning the SAG Award for Female Actor in a Drama Series, she highlighed several actors who have supported her throughout her career. Those actors just happened to be Alfre Woodard, Jamie Foxx and Lena Waithe.

“In 1997, she [Woodard] whispered in my ear, I’m so proud of you out there. We fight the same fight,'” she said. “Jamie Foxx in 2006, he pulled me aside and said ‘Keep going.’ And in 2017, Lena Waithe, she just embraced me and said ‘You already won. It’s in the work.'”

Waithe retweeted TNT’s video of the speech to her Twitter page, with the caption, “Wooow! @IamSandraOh. What a gift you are. Thank you for shining so bright. Your commitment to the craft is breathtaking. Congrats !!”

She later retweeted the video again, writing, “This is also proof black people fuck with Sandra Oh.”

Oh won her award for her performance as Eve Polastri in BBC America’s Killing Eve. The show was an instant hit, becoming a lightning rod in the midst of Hollywood’s focus on women’s empowerment. Even though Oh was a well-known actress before Killing Eve, having worked in various films and on Shonda Rhimes’ Grey’s Anatomy for several seasons, Killing Eve propelled her to even higher heights in the industry.

Just this month, Oh and Andy Samberg hosted the Golden Globes, where she also won the award for Actress in a Drama TV Series for Killing Eve.
