Watch 'That B.E.A.T.' On Bounce Music & Its New Orleans Roots (Short Shouts!)

nullWarning: This one might be a little raw for some of you folks. And it’s probably NSFW.

Today’s Short Shout! (a new feature I started last week, in which I will share short films on this blog that I dig, as I come across them online, or if they’re sent to me).

This one is titled That B.E.A.T., and it’s directed by Abteen Bagheri.

Here’s its description: Bounce music is about expressing yourself through dance. Bounce creates an infectious repetitive hook and beat to get the crowd moving. This documentary profiles the phenomenon of Bounce music and traces its origins in New Orleans.

And infectious it most certainly all is, contained in a gleefully seductive package that I’m sure will help it go viral once more people get a whiff of it.

By the way, as I said before, if you’d like your short film featured here, or you come across a short film that you think is cool and should be shared, send it to me!
