Need to be uplifted during these trying times? The Last Laugh: A Celebration of Black Sitcoms is here to deliver some much-needed comedic medicine.

The short documentary was directed by actor and filmmaker, Etienne Maurice. It features Blair Underwood, Rich Correll, Marla Gibbs, Jackée Harry, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Reginald VelJohnson and Flex Alexander.

Maurice, also the Creative Director for the African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA), created the documentary in 2015 for his senior thesis at Drexel University. It was released this week via his production company, WalkGood Productions. On Instagram, Etienne wroteI made this film at time when black comedies seemed to have faded away. Although progress has been made since I filmed this documentary, I still believe there are many more and varied stories to be told. I hope you stay safe, stay at home, and find more reasons to laugh.”
