After receiving all sorts of buzz and acclaim at both its Venice and TIFF premieres, a red band trailer has been released for Guillermo del Toro’s fantasy love story/thriller, The Shape of Water. 

Described as “an other-worldly fairy tale, set against the backdrop of Cold War-era America circa 1963,” a lonely mute woman named Elisa (Sally Hawkins) sees her life changed when she and her co-worker Zelda (Spencer) discover a secret classified experiment.”

Other cast members include Michael Shannon, Richard Jenkins, Michael Stuhlbarg and Doug Jones.

It has been a busy 2017 for Spencer. In addition to the blockbuster Hidden Figures, Spencer also co-starred in The Shack, in which she essentially plays God, and Gifted with Chris Evans.

The Shape of Water will be released in December.
