'Welcome To Sweetie Pie's': Man Pleads Guilty In Death Of Her Grandson, Says Victim's Uncle Ordered The Hit

Travell Anthony Hill has pleaded guilty to the 2016 murder of Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s star Andre Montgomery. Fans of Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s followed former Ikette, Ms. Robbie Montgomery. The show centered on the restaurant owner and her family as they ran several of her Sweetie Pie’s soul food restaurants in St. Louis.

Andre is the grandson of Miss Robbie and appeared on the show alongside her and his uncle, Tim Norman, who is Miss Robbie’s son. It is alleged that Tim hired Hill to kill his nephew.

'Welcome to Sweetie Pie's' family dynamic

The family dynamic on Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s showed a close hardworking family and how hard it can be to manage relationships while in business together. Ms. Robbie ran a tight ship and expected nothing but the best from her staff, much of which was made up of a lot of her family members with Norman as the manager of the locations.

During the show, Ms. Robbie bought her troubled grandson Andre to live with her. Andre was the son of Ms. Robbie’s late son, Andre Sr., and she made it her goal to help get him on track.

Norman had helped his mother expand the empire after he was released from prison years ago. But apparently, he couldn’t stay away from the life of crime he claimed he’d left alone.

Norman's alleged involvement in his nephew's death

He is back in prison on charges that he orchestrated Andre’s murder. NBC St. Louis reports that the shooter, Hill, pleaded guilty to shooting Andre. The plea carries a mandatory life sentence. Hill is not going down by himself. He admitted to shooting Andre at the request of Norman in exchange for a $5,000 payment.

Norman has pleaded not guilty. Per Hill, Norman hired an exotic dancer and alleged girlfriend named Terica Ellis to lure Andre to a location where Hill would shoot and kill him. It is believed that he paid her 10,000 to lure Andre to his death.

The motivation behind the crime is that Norman was counting on receiving a $450,000 payday from the life insurance policy he took out on his nephew.

Insurance agent Waiel Rebhi Yaghnam also faces charges of wire and mail fraud in the insurance scheme.

Norman was telling others that Andre had stolen money from Miss Robbie in a home invasion. But Andre revealed in his interview with detectives in the case that he believed it was actually Norman who had stolen the money and his grandmother was removing his name from everything related to the business.

Four days after Norman was accused of stealing the money by Andre, the latter was shot and killed.
