The Wendy Williams saga continues with Kevin Hunter, Williams’ estranged husband and business partner, suing producer Debmar-Mercury.

According to Rolling Out, Hunter has filed a multimillion-dollar lawsuit against Debmar-Mercury for its treatment of Williams with regard to ousting her and going with Sherri Shepherd. Hunter alleges that the production company wrongfully terminated the gossip talk show host. The site writes that The Shade Room obtained the documents showing Hunter asking for at least $7 million.

In the suit, Hunter says he was wrongfully terminated on "the basis of his marital status which is barred by the New York City Human Rights Law."

He claimed the company fired him after Williams filed for divorce from him. He also claims that many of the segments he created for Williams will become part of Shepherd’s new show.

According to Hunter, Williams’ show “never recovered from his firing” and that Debmar-Mercury “underestimated [Hunter’s] value to the show.”

This is the latest chapter in the battle brewing between Williams and Debmar-Mercury, who decided to cancel her show and give Williams’ guest host, Shepherd her own show. Many of Williams’ staff will also transfer to Shepherd’s show. Williams was reportedly “blindsided” by the decision, and has gone against her former representative for talking to the press on her behalf.
