Wendy Williams is getting help.

HollywoodLife reports that the former talk show host has entered rehab to “focus on her health,” according to a press release sent to the outlet by Shawn Zanotti, Williams’ publicist. The purpose is to make sure she is ready to take on her latest venture, a podcast called The Wendy Experience.

"Wendy has entered a wellness facility seeking help to manage her overall health issues."

“She is taking some time to focus on her health and wellness as she prepares for a major comeback for the next level in her career with The Wendy Experience Podcast,” Zanotti wrote Tuesday. “Ms. Williams is being treated by a team of some of the best doctors in the world. We ask for your prayers and well wishes during this time.”

For fans who have been concerned about Williams' health, particularly because of her recent behavior including slurred and stilted speech, this admission of entering rehab might be a welcome bit of news.

illiams has had troubles with sobriety in the past, and in The Hollywood Reporter’s bombshell report on Williams in the months before The Wendy Williams Show was cancelled, Williams allegedly had empty alcohol bottles in the office.

'The Wendy Experience' podcast is meant to be another way for Williams to continue her hosting, harkening back to her radio days of spreading her gossip to her audience through the airwaves.

Williams has been promoting the podcast, but because of her various illnesses and her struggles with sobriety, people have been worried about how she will handle herself in a podcast. Fans have also placed blame at production company Debmar-Mercury for not taking better care of her health while The Wendy Williams Show was on the air.

As Charlamagne Tha God told Madame Noire about Williams’ health, “I was more mad at Debmar-Mercury for putting Wendy out there all the time knowing clearly something’s wrong,” he said.

“I been watching her for the past four years. She fainted on live television but they just kept putting her out there [and] propping her up knowing she wasn’t at her best."

“And in my mind, if she would’ve gotten help three, four years ago, it might not have gotten to this point.”

Let’s hope that Williams’ time in rehab will bring her back to her former self, ready to spill tea on her upcoming podcast.
