nullAll in a day’s work!

Diesel hasn’t had as much success outside of the "Fast and Furious" franchise of movies; his top five grossing movies (films that he starred in – not supporting or peripheral, like "Saving Private Ryan"), are all "Fast & Furious" movies.

His only other centi-million box office hits are "XXX" and "The Pacifier."

He did some voice work for "Guardians of the Galaxy," but, again, I’m referring specifically to films in which he starred. So this latest work will be another test of the actor’s solo box office appeal. After all, he can’t make "Fast & Furious" movies forever.

Diesel stars in "The Last Witch Hunter," an upcoming supernatural action film directed by Breck Eisner, in which the superstar plays an immortal witch hunter who must stop a horrific, destructive plague from ravaging New York City.

The film is scheduled to be released by Lionsgate, on October 23, 2015.

Rose Leslie, Elijah Wood, Michael Caine, Rena Owen, Julie Engelbrecht, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, and Isaach De Bankolé round out the cast.

First announced in 2012, Timur Bekmambetov was to direct the film, based on a script written by Cory Goodman. Bekmambetov was later replaced by Breck Eisner and Goodman’s script was re-written by D.W. Harper before Melisa Wallack was brought on for another re-write  – the "too many cooks" problem, which can sometimes spell disaster for a movie.

Lionsgate has released a first trailer for the film which is embedded below:
