UPDATE 07/05/19: Marlon Wayans has written on Instagram that reports of White Chicks 2 happening are false. “My face when @terrycrews tells the world #whitechicks2 is happening but we still don’t have a deal in place…” he wrote, adding that nothing about White Chicks 2 being in the works isn’t true, or at least, “[n]ot yet. #ohterry.”

Crews did respond back on the post, writing, “Sorry, man! I’m only ready when you are!”

Terry Crews’ comedic acting skills as white girl-obsessed Latrell Spencer was one of the standout parts of the 2004 Wayans Brothers film, White Chicks. Since then there have been murmurings of a second White Chicks coming at some point and Crews said he’s ready for it. Recently on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Crews said, “You know what, I actually got with Shawn, and he was like ‘man we doing it, we getting it going.”

He also gave similar comments to People Magazine’s Couch Surfing. “I talked to Shawn literally two weeks ago, and he was like, ‘Man, I’m trying to get it going.’ I said, ‘I’m there,'” he continued. “…I am staying in shape so I could do White Chicks 2.”

Crews talked about how White Chicks gave him a lesson in confidence. “That movie gave me all I needed. All the confidence I would ever need for the rest of my career,” he said, citing how writer/director Keenen Ivory Wayans told him to do whatever he wanted with the character.

The reason Crews was able to embody his character is because he’s met him before in other people in his life. “The character that I was playing I knew,” he said, eventually imitating that type of male archetype by saying, “‘Excuse me, my beautiful Black sister, could you tap that white girl right there and make sure she has my number, please?’ It was like so many guys in the NFL.”

This is not the first time Crews has expressed his interest in a White Chicks sequel. In March, he spoke about his hope for a sequel to Us Weekly. Whereas Crews has been stoking the sequel fires as of late, Marlon Wayans has made fans hyped for a sequel since 2017, when he posted a fake poster to his Instagram to see what people thought about the idea through the number of likes. The image was liked 420,000 times on Instagram and 700,000 times on Facebook.
