The mayor praised Dupart for her efforts, saying, “This key truly represents our city. It is a reflection of who we are as a city. Jesseca Dupart is a superstar talent today, but she wasn’t always this successful growing up. She gave birth to her first child at a young age and had two more children before she was 20. Because of this, she was kicked out of her family home to fend for herself.

But instead of giving up, she put up a fight. She enrolled in one of New Orleans’ most elite cosmetology schools and obtained her license shortly after. From there, she worked tirelessly to improve her skills and create a reputation for herself in the industry.
