Actor, comedian, producer, author and TV personality, Whoopi Goldberg has a monumental resume and a handful of accolades to her name– and she also has a beautiful family. She’s an EGOT winner—making her the first Black woman to have been awarded all four of the major American entertainment awards. She’s also a 2001 Mark Twain Prize for American Humor recipient and has an illustrious Hollywood career spanning over 30 years.

On top of all her entertainment success, the award-winning star is also a proud mother, loving grandmother, and doting great-grandmother. Goldberg married her first husband Alvin Martin, with whom she shares a daughter, in 1973. Her marriage to Martin lasted 6 years—making it her longest marriage. She married her second husband, David Claessen, in 1986, but the pair split up two years later in 1988.  She was later wed to her third husband, Lyle Trachtenberg, from 1994 to 1995.

In a 2011 interview with Piers Morgan, Goldberg admitted to never really being in love with any of her husbands. In response to a question about relationships and her three marriages, Goldberg responded: “I suppose that you know, you have to actually be in love with the person that you marry. You have to really be committed to them. And I’m just—I don’t have that commitment. I’m committed to my family, you know, and so, hence, for that relationship has lasted, you know, the longest.”

Despite her those marriages, Goldberg’s family consisting of her daughter, three grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.

Amarah tends to live her life outside the public eye, but it is known that she’s a wife and mother to a little girl named Charli Rose. Charli made Goldberg a great-grandmother at the age of 58. Whoopi introduced the newest addition to the family in a 2014 Instagram video after she was born.
