Though he lives to troll us, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson doesn't play when it comes to his film and TV empire. Presently, the executive producer is dominating the Starz network with the Power Universe and BMF. However, he's ready to return to the big screen and the Queens-born rapper wants to enlist iconic rapper, Nicki Minaj to help him do it.
Speaking with Jalen Rose on the NBA alum's Renaissance Man podcast 50 Cent said he thinks it would be "fun" to star opposite Minaj in a romantic comedy. “You know who would probably be fun to work with? Nicki Minaj would be fun to be in a romantic comedy with,” he said at the 43-minute mark. “I kinda understand her a little bit more than the other people. When she’s being an asshole it’s because she’s telling you, ‘You’re not going to take advantage of me.’”
50 Cent is ready to make his rom-com debut, and he wants none other than Nicki Minaj to be his leading lady. https://t.co/VY5RiwbjN5— billboard (@billboard) October 1, 2021
The rapper says that he understands Minaj and that the public is constantly trying to attack her, referencing her coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine Twitter debacle and her marriage to convicted rapist and sex offender Kenneth Petty. “I feel like she’s being attacked in a different way publicly,” 50 Cent said. "It’s because of…choices [like] who you decide to be with. C’mon bro. … That’s her personal life, and she’s decided her personal business is personal. Why do you care?”
We're not certain if this rom-com will pan out, but the rapper/executive producer has teamed up with SAW director Darren Lynn Bousman and the writers of The Conjuring, Chad Hayes and Carey W. Hayes for a horror film based on New Orleans’ infamous Lalaurie Mansion. He shared the news via Instagram.
