Zendaya shook up the game early in her career on Disney Channel’s Shake It Up by refusing to have a personal milestone–having her first kiss–on television.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Zendaya told British Vogue in a recent interview that she refused to kiss on screen while she was a teen star in the 2010s because it was a moment in her life she wanted to keep private.

“I remember being on Shake It Up and being like, ‘I’m not gonna do this,” she said. “I’m going to kiss him on the cheek because I haven’t been kissed yet so I don’t want the kiss to be on camera.”

Zendaya has been notoriously private about her life, and it’s only been recently that her love life has become paparazzi fodder. Images have circled the internet of her and her Spider-Man: No Way Home co-star and on-screen love interest Tom Holland spending time together, including attending a friend’s wedding. However, neither she nor Holland have confirmed or denied any relationship.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is set for a Dec. 17 release and also stars Alfred Molina, Marisa Tomei, Benedict Cumberbatch, Willem Dafoe, and Jon Favreau.
