Black Eyed Peas musician will.i.a.m is executive producing a television adaptation of Marvel Comics’ and his own Masters of the Sun – The Zombie Chronicles. According to Deadline, will.i.am’s producer title comes from his new first-look deal with Entertainment One, which allows him to “serve as an executive producer on all projects” and to “develop and produce original programming.” COO of will.i.am’s production company I.Am.Media, Sara Ramaker, will also produce in partnership with will.i.am.

Masters of the Sun was a comic book developed by will.i.am in 2017 which brought Afrofuturism to the zombie space. According to Marvel, the comic book “mixes L.A. Gang culture, B-Boy-ism and Egyptology to tell the heroic tale of a Hip Hop gropu from East L.A. who must batle an ancient, alien God sent to earth to continue a Black Curse–which turns drug dealers and gangsters into zombies!”

The film has been featured at this year’s Sundance and Cannes Film Festivals as a virtual reality experience featuring the voices of Queen Latifah, Ice-T, KRS One, Rakim, Slick Rick, Jason Isaacs and Stan Lee.

Peter Michelli, chief strategy officer of film, television and digital for eOne, talked about the deal with will.i.am in a statement.

“will.i.am has an extensive track record of creating entertainment content that moves masses and shapes cultural moments,” he said according to Deadline. “We have long admired his body of work and can’t wait to collaborate on exceptional content together.”

will.i.am also said in a statement, according to Deadline, that he considered the deal with eOne “a dream come true…to be surrounded by great partners who can help take ideas from my brain, from books and onward to explode and entertain on multiple screens.” He also said it will be a “true honor” to work with Mark Gordon, “one of the most prolific and respected producers in Hollywood and beyond.”
