Will Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment has tapped his son Jaden Smith, and Cara Delevingne to star in a romantic drama titled “Year in a Life,” which will be directed by Mitja Okorn, from a script penned by Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews.

Scheduled to begin production in the spring, the project’s story follows a 17-year-old boy and his girlfriend who set out to make the most of their final year together, when they learn that she’s dying, and has only a year left to live.

Overbrook Entertainment is producing along with Marc Bienstock.

The last time we saw Jaden Smith on the big screen was the 2013 disaster that was “After Earth,” in which he co-starred with his father Will Smith. Currently, you can catch him in Netflix’s musical drama series “The Get Down” which returns for the second half of its season next month.

Overbrook Entertainment was started by partners Will Smith and James Lassiter in the late 1990s. The company produces music, films, and television shows. Some of its production credits include “Wild Wild West,” “Love & Basketball,” “Ali,” “ATL,” “The Human Contract,” “Lakeview Terrace,” “The Secret Life of Bees,” “Annie,” “Collateral Beauty.”

Deadline was first to report the “Year in a Life” news.
