William Jackson Harper headlines the second season of the HBO Max series Love Life. The new trailer below puts Harper’s character in the thick of trying to rebuild his life after experiencing a big blow in his relationship.

Harper plays Marcus Watkins, a man who must work on himself in the hopes of finding fulfillment in love. “After his marriage unexpectedly implodes, Marcus is forced to rebuild his life brick by brick, hoping to find a love that will last, once and for all,” according to HBO Max.

Harper will star alongside series regulars Jessica Williams, Punkie Johnson and Chris “Comedian CP” Powell. Other stars set to appear this season include Ego Nwodim, Kimberly Elise, Blair Underwood, Janet Hubert, Jordan Rock, Arian Moayed, Leslie Bibb, John Earl Jelks, Steven Boyer, Zoë Chao, Peter Vack, Sasha Compére and Nick Thune and Keith David as the season’s narrator.

Love Life was created by Sam Boyd and co-showrun by Boyd, Bridget Bedard, and Rachelle Williams. Harper is among the executive producers with Boyd, Bedard, Williams, Anna Kendrick (who starred in the first season), Paul Feig and Dan Magnante.

Harper is best known for his role on NBC’s hit comedy The Good Place. He can currently be seen in Barry Jenkins’ The Underground Railroad. He will also lend his voice to the animated Netflix series Dogs in Space.
