Winston Duke To Star Opposite Ryan Gosling And Emily Blunt 'The Fall Guy' At Universal

Winston Duke already has his next film project lined up after Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Duke will join The Fall Guy, starring Ryan Gosling and directed by David Leitch. The film also stars Everything Everywhere All At Once actress Stephanie Hsu, Emily Blunt and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Production has started in Australia.

The film is based on the 1980s TV series starring Lee Majors as a stuntman who also moonlights as a bounty hunter. This time around, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will focus on a “past-his-prime stuntman” whose next project is a movie with a star he used to double for long ago. The actor and Gosling’s character probably also have beef since the actor is the reason why Gosling’s character was replaced. Now, however, that actor has gone missing.

Duke will play Gosling’s character’s best friend, while Taylor-Johnson plays the movie star in question. Blunt is a prosthetic makeup artist who had a previous romance with Gosling’s character, and Hsu plays the assistant to Taylor-Johnson’s character.

The script is written by Drew Pearce, who will executive produce with Geoff Shaevitz. The film is being produced by Leitch and Kelly McCormick through their production company 87North. Gosling and Entertainment 360’s Guymon Casady are also producing. Universal’s executive vice president of production Matt Reilly and director of development Tony Ducret will oversee for the studio.

Duke will be gracing theater screens nationwide as M’Baku in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, releasing Nov. 11. The film is the follow-up to the 2018 Marvel film starring Chadwick Boseman, who died at the age of 43 in 2020.
