As the film industry reconfigures amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Paramount is unloading another film on a streaming service.

After selling April’s The Lovebirds and the upcoming The Trial of the Chicago 7 to Netflix, Paramount is nearing a deal to move Without Remorse to Netflix.

It was envisioned as a film franchise at Paramount, including a film on Rainbow Six. While it is unknown how this move would impact that, the Amazon tilt makes sense because Without Remorse is another Tom Clancy adaptation and Amazon already has its Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan series starring John Krasinski.

Based on the book of the same name by Clancy, Without Remorse chronicles John Clark, a U.S. Navy Seal who embarks on a quest for vengeance to solve his wife’s murder. However, Clark unravels a larger conspiracy during his journey. Paramount had reportedly been trying to do a John Clark film for a while, with Christopher McQuarrie and Ryan Reynolds previously attached. The character has been previously portrayed on the big screen by the likes of Willem Dafoe and Liev Schreiber. Stefano Sollima is the director and Taylor Sheridan is the writer of the film.
