Hulu has released the first trailer for the upcoming comedy series, Woke, which stars Lamorne Morris.

The logline: Inspired by the life and work of artist Keith Knight, comedy series Woke takes an absurdly irreverent look at identity and culture as it follows Keef (Morris), an Black cartoonist finally on the verge of mainstream success when an unexpected incident changes everything. With a fresh outlook on the world around him, Keef must now navigate the new voices and ideas that confront and challenge him, all without setting aflame everything he’s already built.

T. Murph and Blake Anderson also star in the series. Developed by Knight and Marshall Todd, they executive produce with showrunner Jay Dyer, Maurice “Mo” Marable, Aeysha Carr, Richie Schwartz, John Will, Will Gluck, and Eric Christian Olsen. Woke is a co-production between ABC Studios and Sony Pictures Television.

Knight is an award-winning cartoonist known for comic-strips like The K Chronicles and The Knight Life. His cartoons have appeared in many national publications and typically take on social issues.

All episodes will debut on September 9. Watch the trailer below:
