Chi-Raq - Teyonah ParrisSpike Lee’s "Chi-Raq" makes its home entertainment premiere today, December 29, from Lionsgate.

The film, which is also still in theaters by the way, is now available for purchase at all Digital HD retailers and On Demand on select digital platforms such as Amazon, iTunes, Vudu, Xbox, Playstation, Google Play and MGO.

It’ll become available on Blu-ray and DVD on January 26, 2016, for those who prefer hard copies.

The Amazon Studios film (the company’s first feature film) was always destined for an early home video release, given Amazon’s distribution model – not-so unlike what Netflix did with "Beasts of No Nation." So the fact that it’s already available on home video isn’t unexpected. Netflix released "Beasts of No Nation" in theaters and on its streaming platform on the same day.

Welcome to a new age of film distribution.

The "Chi-Raq" home entertainment release includes “The Making of Chi-Raq” featurette, deleted scenes, extended scenes and a music video for “We Gotta Do Better” from Kevon Carter.

Teyonah Parris, Nick Cannon, Wesley Snipes, Jennifer Hudson, Steve Harris, Harry Lennix, D.B. Sweeney, Angela Bassett, John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson star in "Chi-Raq," a searing satire of gun violence in America inspired by the ancient Greek play “Lysistrata.”

A timely tale of a community at war with itself, with scathing commentary on gun culture, black-on-black violence, corrupt politicians and urban decay, "Chi-Raq" follows 2 rival gangs, led by Chi-Raq (Nick Cannon) and Cyclops (Wesley Snipes), who are locked in bloody combat on the streets of Chicago, until the beautiful Lysistrata (Teyonah Parris) persuades the women of the Spartan and Trojan gangs to swear off sex with their men until the fighting stops.

"Chi-Raq" has grossed over $2.5 million at the box office.
