Musician Ziggy Marley is working with Paramount Pictures to develop a biopic about his father, legendary reggae artist Bob Marley.

As Deadline reports, Marley faced discrimination growing up because of his family; his father was white, and his mother was black.

Despite the discrimination, he became one of the leading figures of reggae and brought the musical style to the mainstream consciousness.

Marley died of skin cancer at the age of 36.

This is not the first film about his father Ziggy has worked on. Ziggy is one of the executive producers of the 2012 documentary Marley, and he also produced the video, Bob Marley & The Wailers: Easy Skanking in Boston ’78 and TV’s Marley Africa Roadtrip.
