In theaters this weekend, Emile Hirsch and Zoe Kravitz star in the "Bonnie & Clyde"-Style indie crime drama "Vincent & Roxxy," which follows a young Chicago woman, Roxxy (Kravitz), who's on the run when she meets and is assisted by Vincent, a young man who is also on the run. Being on the run, however, doesn't stop them from going on a crime spree all of their own. And naturally, amid all that running and crime spreeing, they fall in love.
Official synopsis courtesy of distributor Vertical Entertainment: If hip-hop and rock-n-roll had a love child, she would be Roxxy (Zoë Kravitz), an inner city girl in trouble. Vincent (Emile Hirsch) is a consummate loner from small town America searching for meaning in his life that has become intertwined with dangerous people. One morning, these two lost souls meet when a vicious killer attacks Roxxy on the street in broad daylight before a crowd of witnesses. Vincent tries to save her, forcing Vincent and Roxxy to go on the run for their lives. They soon learn violence will follow them everywhere, even as they unexpectedly fall in love.
Also co-starring are Scott Mescudi (aka Kid Cudi), and Jason Mitchell ("Straight Outta Compton").
Produced by Keith Kjarval via his Unified Pictures, with backing from BRON, the film is scripted and directed by Gary Michael Schultz.
It opens in limited theatrical release starting on Friday, June 2.
