Zoë Kravitz has been cast as Selina Kyle / Catwoman in Matt Reeves’ The Batman, opposite Robert Pattinson as the titular character.

The Warner Bros. film has a cast that also includes Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon and Jonah Hill, who is still in negotiations to play the villain.

Kravitz reportedly tested for the role last week with Pattinson. Ella Balinska, the British newcomer who stars in the upcoming Charlie’s Angels film, reportedly also tested, along with Ana de Armas and Eisa Gonzalez. No one on the rumored shortlist that surfaced last week seems to have tested.

She is the latest in a line of actresses to play the infamous DC Comics character, including Eartha Kitt, Michelle Pfeiffer, Halle Berry and Anne Hathaway.

Reeves is the director and writer. The film is currently set for release on June 25, 2021.

Kravitz is coming off of Big Little Lies Season 2 and is also the star of a Hulu series version of the film High Fidelity, which is set for release later this year. Coincidentally, she voiced Catwoman in Warner Bros.’ The Batman Lego Movie.
