Megan Thee Stallion is in talks to star in an upcoming Netflix film opposite Adam Sandler.

Deadline reports that Uncut Gems directors and brothers Josh and Benny Safdie are casting their next film, which they have written and are also producing, with the rapper in mind to join. The film’s plot and title have not been released to the public. But the outlet reports that Sandler has confirmed “its setting in the world of sports memorabilia.” Filming will begin this summer.

The casting falls in line with the Safdie brothers picking unexpected Black talent for their films; for Uncut Gems, the directors cast former NBA star Kevin Garnett.

This marks the latest acting role Megan Thee Stallion has had yet, after featuring in P-Valley, Good Girls and most controversially in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. She has already filmed F***ing Identical Twins, a comedy from Borat director Larry Charles, starring Nathan Lane, Megan Mullally and Bowen Yang, according to Deadline. The rapper’s musical ability might have come in handy for the film, which is billed as a comedy/musical about business rivals who find out they’re identical twins and swap places to get their parents back together. She has also starred as a judge on HBO voguing competition series Legendary.
