Filming for the upcoming seventh season of The Real Housewives of Potomac is currently taking place and all cast members from last season, with the exception of friend to the show Askale Davis, are returning. Candiace Dillard Bassett and Karen Huger have been distant for the past few seasons. And it looks like their friendship may be over for good.
Their issues began when Candiace Dillard Bassett accused Karen Huger of taking sides in her fight with Monique Samuels
Dillard Bassett and Samuels got into a physical altercation during Season 5. They both filed lawsuits against one another, with Dillard Bassett alleging she was attacked unprovoked. A judge dismissed both claims.
Majority of the cast, with the exception of Ashley Darby and Huger, axed Samuels out and considered her to be the person in the wrong as she was the one who became physical. But Huger took a neutral stance, which Dillard Bassett did not like.
Throughout Season 6, Huger tried to repair the relationship, but Dillard Bassett says she doesn’t trust Huger. She does say that she can be cordial with Huger.
The two have been seemingly trading subliminals on social media
Filming for Season 7 recently began and the cast have been sharing some behind the scenes meet ups on their respective social media pages. Per Dillard Bassett and Huger’s Twitter accounts, things between them remain estranged and they’ve been airing out their issues on social media.
Huger first tweeted: “The best way to get a READ on where you truly stand with your gal pals is to host a party with bubbly and a [microphone emoji]! Baby, believe…you will walk out with such clarity on what and who you are TRULY working with. When people show you who they are, believe them and carry on! #rhop” Many believed the microphone emoji was was a dig toward Dillard Bassett, who is a singer.
Dillard Bassett then tweeted, “Lol…Projection is a disease.” Huger responded: “I recently looked up the term “fence humping” lol. It’s a skill that should ONLY be applied when you are correct about not choosing between the two. Chapter closed…#rhop” Huger’s tweet could have been in reference to her siding with Samuels.

Dillard Bassett ended things with one last tweet, which appears to be a warning of what’s to come. “One thing about me, in this year of our Lord…I’m going to tell you who you are (cuz y’all like to lie to yourselves) and calmly return to my yoga mat,” she wrote. “The tizzies that may ensue afterward are a direct result of what I like to call “hitdogholleringism.”
