Lauren London and writer/comedian Sam Jay have joined the cast of Kenya Barris’ untitled Netflix comedy film, as reported by Deadline. The cast also includes Eddie Murphy, Jonah Hill and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who was recently added.

Deadline has reported some new details about the film with the casting. London and Hill are playing a couple who are dealing with their families, “who find themselves examining modern love and family dynamics amidst clashing cultures, societal expectations and generational differences.” No word on who Jay will play, but it can be presumed that she will play a member of London and Murphy’s family.

London starred in the first season of Games People Play and can be seen in the Michael B. Jordan starrer Without Remorse. She will also star in the mini series True Story starring Kevin Hart and Wesley Snipes.

Jay has written for Saturday Night Live and That Damn Michael Che. She also starred in her first special, Sam Jay: 3 in the Morning.

In prior posts, the film was described as a story in the vein of Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner. Up until the new description, the film was described as “an incisive examination of modern love and family dynamics and how clashing cultures, societal expectations and generational differences shape and affect relationships.”

Hill and Barris co-wrote the script and Barris will produce the film through his company Khalabo Ink Society. Hill will also produce through his company Strong Baby. Other producers include Misher Films’ Kevin Misher, Khalabo Ink Society’s Mychelle Deschamp and Hale Rothstein, Strong Baby’s Matt Dines and Ali Goodwin, David Hyman, Misher Films’ Andy Berman and Charisse Hewitt Webste.
